The seven artists and their mentor whose works are presently on show on the Maine Artwork Gallery in Wiscasset have named this exhibit “Collective Creativeness.” The title is an apt description, because the artists have really shaped a collective for the aim of inspiring and critiquing one another’s work. For the previous seven years or so, they’ve grown of their means to precise themselves by means of common conferences for critique and inspiration.
The collective, which calls themselves SEVEN, consists of Emily Blaschke, Jenny Campbell, Alicia Sampson Ethridge, Celeste June Henriquez, Doreen Nardone, Brenda Overstrom, Donald M. Peterson, plus their mentor, Michel Droge. SEVEN’S work is receiving reward from artwork critics, and the Maine Artwork Gallery exhibit has garnered consideration from distinguished artwork reviewers Carl Little, of Artwork New England, and Jorge Arango, of The Portland Press Herald.
